hey im having a problem with my bike's disk brakes. no matter how hard I press it does not want to break properly, even though I can see the pads touching the disk. Do you think I need new pads for the breaks or is it something to do with the wires having too much slack.

Back in the day (1995) When I was working on cheap bikes from box stores we used Windex to put on grips. when dry the only way to get them off is to use more Windex with a screw driver and you might get them off or just cut them off. What do you think? Also I'm thinking about getting back into biking (MTB at 60 years old?) what should I expect to pay for a used bike for trail riding? I've always found hairspray to be the perfect thing for getting rubber grips on. It sets like glue when it dries, then will dissolve with warm water when you want to take it off.

Seat droppers are the best.

Old trick to putting on bike handles, and I imagine those break grips (which I use), is hair spray. Spray some on the leavers and then slip on the grips and let dry for a bit. Bing Bang Boom.

you can use water to apply the sticky fingers.. just add some on the inside of them.. they go on really fast.. and once the water evaporates, they aren't going anywhere! :D
